The World of Fulminia

Gods & Magic

Three gods. One continent. Centuries of consequence.

I
Tiius
God of Purity & Justice
The old Calligian republic · The Kings’ Union

Tiius is the oldest of the three gods — or so his priests claim. In the age of the Calligian republic, his name was everywhere: on courthouses and shields, on the lips of senators and in the mouths of the condemned.

His paladins were once the most feared soldiers on the continent. Not for their cruelty, but for their certainty. A paladin of Tiius does not waver. He does not negotiate. He does not ask whether a cause is just — he decides, and acts.

The civil war broke something in the church of Tiius. His paladins scattered. Some followed Antaius Lordborn into the west and helped build the Kings’ Union. Others stayed, and watched the Selvo dynasty sell Calligia to Odall piece by piece. Fewer carry his light truly than claim to.

II
Odall
Lord of Undeath & Corruption
The Selvo dynasty · The Calligian Empire

There are no temples to Odall. Not openly. He is worshipped in cellars and crypts, in the private chambers of the powerful, in the moments before a bargain is struck and cannot be undone.

The Selvo dynasty did not choose Odall because they were evil. They chose him because they were losing. Odall does not offer power — he offers continuation. The empire will not fall. The dynasty will not end. All it costs is everything that made it worth preserving.

The undead who march under the Calligian banner are not soldiers. They are a statement. A proof of concept. Odall is not subtle about what he is. He simply waits for people to be desperate enough not to care.

III
Duella
Goddess of Independence & Neutrality
Jaldana · The free peoples

Duella is the youngest of the three — though she would dispute that framing. She did not emerge from the collapse of empire. She was always there, in the people who refused to be absorbed. In the tribes that fought rather than surrender. In the silence of mountains that no army has ever truly held.

Jaldana won its independence from Aristinia in one of the bloodiest conflicts the continent has seen. They worship Duella not as a goddess of peace, but as a goddess of refusal. There is a difference.

Her followers do not seek war. But they will not be taken without one. Neutrality, in Duella’s theology, is not passivity — it is a declaration that no empire has the right to claim you.

Pure Magic

Magic in Fulminia is not a neutral force. It flows through faith, bloodline, and bargain. The paladins of Tiius carry blessed steel and conviction. The servants of Odall raise the dead and pay the price in increments they rarely understand until it is too late.

Pure magic — untethered from any god — surfaces in rare individuals of ancient blood. It is unpredictable and deeply feared. No church claims it. No king tolerates it well. Those who carry it tend not to advertise the fact.
